Mamimi & Haruko | FLCL | 2008

About: Ashley Hay and I decided to craft these costumes for Anime Detour in 2008 after marathoning the series FLCL together. In this duo I had the easier of the two ensembles, but I did learn how little I enjoy sewing pleats during the construction process. We enjoyed our time at the convention and set up a shoot afterwards to better document our costumes. Steven Anthony was nice enough to take the photos in his studio, and we created some chaotic-feeling shots that felt at home in the anime.
