Steampunk Lara Croft | 2012
Steampunk Lara Croft | Original Design | 2012
About: Inspired to realize an original design of an iconic character and my perpetual love for Lady Lara Croft – a steampunk-inspired Tomb Raider tribute was an idea I’d had for years prior to bringing it to life. I collaborated with the super-talented Tess Fowler on the concept, working classic iconography such as the Scion of Atlantis into her design. I was intimidated by the idea of constructing complex period-specific clothing at the time, and so hired Samantha of Blasphemina’s Closet to construct the garments while I focused on leatherworking and props. My favorite part was constructing the jet pack out of found materials such as plungers and plumbing hardware.
